Jakobi Gillespie.
Small guard but good creator 30 Ast % 9.2 RAPM 93rd percentile MORey Rate .54 3pr over 3 unassisted rim attempts 3.9 DBPM 3.6 stl % I think he can be a solid rotation guard at some point.
Rafael Castro
While I do Technically have Castro on my first round board he’s projected second round but his event creation is special 98th percentile in Steal % as a big is pretty crazy .78 Ftr 2.1 unassisted rim makes 86th percentile in Morey rate 11.8 oreb and 26 dreb % 64 Ts solid unassisted rate I really like Castro.
Bruce Thornton
Thornton had a highly impactful season at Ohio State 11.6 BPM 71 percent 2 point True shooting %! 3 A:To had a elite 3 level scoring profile shooting 75 percent atr with 0 dunks 58 percent from mid range/non rim 2s! 40 percent from 3. Thornton was heavily unassisted too just 18 percent assisted on non rim 2s and Atr sharing a somewhat similar profile to reigning Nba finals Mvp and champ Jalen brunson. while all that is great with Thornton he’s almost 23 didn’t have as good production prior years and is a small guard however his 13 dreb % and 30.1 BMI which is pretty outlier for a 6’0 may help him be a solid defender at the next level.
Micah Handlogten
While having a bit of a down year Handlogten has been a key log in what Florida has been able to accomplish. he was instrumental for them in the national championship run last year. had a 3 A:to handlogten is prone to being a high foul player averaging over 5 fouls constantly but a high feel player who is a pretty solid defensive presence and can defend.Handlogten had 2 years sporting a plus 2 steal % or higher which is incredible for a big but hes always been a great rebounder too particularly orebs as he had a 21 oreb percentage. 62 percent on twos as well think he will be a solid add for a team late second or udfa.
Tucker Devries
Devries is a suprisingly solid Ancillary player in my opinion he averaged about 3.3 rim assists a solid rebounder shot 48 percent from mid range sported a 18 ASt % with a career high 2.2 A:to and is just a flat out shooter. I had a query that ended up with him Payton Sandfort and Sam Hauser and he had the most dunks out of the three with 17. I think Devries can be a good late get in the late second.
Duke Miles
Duke Miles is a small guard but the way he impacted the possession economy for Vanderbilt and rebounded and added dtov value intrigued me. Vanderbilt went from around 143rd in the country in dtov to around 75th with him on.Miles had a 28 Ast % had a .44 3pr 5 steal % and 60 Ts all great margins type things that can help out NBA teams. he was able to burden some load off of Tyler Tanner and elevate Vandy on offense and defense.
Baba Miller
Miller is a pretty unique player and I think you can even utilize him as a off guard. over 3 rim assists and a elite d rapm makes him super tantalizing. 49 percent unassisted 72 percent atr 3.4 DBPM Plus 8 oreb 23 Dreb %. maybe i’m not high enough on Baba miller at all he broke out at just the right time imo.
Quadir Copeland.
Copeland is a great passer having a 41 Ast % 2 A:to was pretty unassisted at the rim solid 2 level scorer shot well from 3 and the midrange has some solid positional size but is awfully skinny. Copeland was heavily unassisted had a .58 Ftr despite shooting 56 percent atr and a 0.84 Morey rate I love Copeland and hope someone picks him.
Tarris Reed Jr.
It’ll be interesting to see where Tarris Reed goes he may even go late First but his Ncaa play was vital to the team success. he had the highest Blk % of anyone in the tourney over 1.4 PPP in transition Tarris is also a Monster rebounder had a 18 Ast percentage. one thing that could be a bit concerning for Tarris though is he’s a undersized center at 6’9 and historically Dan Hurley has done a good job at maximizing guys like that for example Adama sanogo. overall I think Reed is a rebounding nightmare has solid feel and can be a good enough playfinisher to stick.
Richie Saunders.
unfortunate the way Saunders season ended at Byu but his orebing and 3 point shooting should still give him looks in second round but I also think it could be a unique scenario in which if he doesn’t get drafted he could pick a summer league bench to sit on and either start in g league or get a 2 way after Summer league.Saunders had a 14 dreb % 8 oreb % solidly unassisted who had a 71 2 point true shooting .56 3pr and is a incredible 3 point shooter Saunders should be a real target.
Nick Martinelli.
Martinelli was the big ten player of the year and one of only 3 players to average over 40 points/75 the other 2? Aj Dybantsa and Cameron Boozer. Martinelli has quite a unorthodox shooting profile. he’s not a great defender doesn’t score well at the rim shaky 3 point shooter overall despite shooting 40 percent from 3 but over 8 mid range attempts and loves Floaters/hooks. not too high on martinelli even if he had a 61 Ts maybe he can be a poor mans Tobias Harris at his peak though.
Izaiyah Nelson
Nelson is a Athletic freak 21 dreb % 14 oreb % 80 dunks 5.9 Blk % had a .60 Ftr 61 Ts and shot 41 percent from mid range and 73 percent from the Free throw line. his intersection of athleticism defense and shooting upside makes him super tantalizing.
