Draft 2026
“Huge riser in draft all year, rightfully so. Wagler is a high-level scorer who is one of the most efficient scorers in college. His handle is strong, and he is able to create strong shots for himself. Shoots at a very high clip and is good around the rim. Defensively not awful, but can hold his own”
“Keaton Wagler emerged as one of my guys very early in this draft process. I was in no way expecting fringe top 5 pick performance out of him, but he has very well earned it. He has elite range, not just elite, but borderline generational 3 pt range. He is a demon in the pick and roll and is both physical and so comfortable playing off of two feet, he is almost a 6'6 Jalen Brunson on the offensive end with unfathomable range. He is not a good athlete whatsoever and honestly is probably just a straight-up bad athlete, but his combination of footwork, decision-making, and shooting touch is what makes me so high on him. His decision-making is special, and he will be a consistently great passer at the next level, most likely toward the top in assist-to-turnover ratio. He will benefit immensely from adding strength, and is not something I am worried about with him going forward. He is already a physical driver, great at drawing fouls, and doesn't shy away from contact at all. Adding that strength will just make him even more of a monster on the offensive end. I worry about the lack of advantage creation, but the ability to get paint touches with ease and draw fouls on a consistent basis in college dampens that advantage creation worry a little. His defense is not going to be a strength at all, but I also don't envision him being a liability either, he'll hold his own and nothing more. Overall, the sky is the limit for Keaton because of how young and talented of an offensive player he is. Going from expecting to redshirt, to starting on a top 10 team in the country as an 18/19-year-old lead guard warrants all of the hype he has been getting, and I envision him being a great contributor to winning at the next level.”
“Fascinating prospect. Late bloomer special. Elite elite shooter off the catch and off the dribble. Great handle and smart passer. Super dangerous in p&r. Out the gym range. Solid footwork. Crafty finisher with both hands and tremendous at hitting shots off balance. Not an advantage creator. Not strong at all and doesn’t play with any real force going downhill. Relies on shooting over the defense instead of breaking the defense down. When he bumps a defender he goes backwards.”
