Draft 2026
“Christian Anderson is a player that I want to love, since his feel for the game is so good, but I just can't quite get there. He's an elite shooter, both off the catch and off the dribble. He's also one of the best passers in the draft. Elite touch both shooting and passing. True NBA specialty skills there. However, he has competing negative traits. He's very undersized, in terms of both height and strength. Don't see a situation where he isn't hunted constantly on defense. He competes defensively, but don't think he has the size, strength, or lateral quickness to hold his own. Doesn't have a strong base. He also doesn't have the burst to be an elite creator on offense. He will need the help of ball screens to gain an advantage, and likely won't put much pressure on the rim. Since he doesn't have that self creation element, his offense doesn't outweigh his defensive deficiencies enough to where he can be on the court consistently (whereas it likely will for a player like Acuff who has elite offensive creation skills). I still think he has a role as a rotation guy though, since he's so elite as a shooter and passer.”
“PHYSICAL - He is not the fastest but is still decently quick - Has below average strength for a guard SKILLS - Has a good handle - Can set the pace on offense SHOOTING - Uses high screens for good jumpers - Has a good shot form that is decently fast - Can shoot from anywhere and off dribble or off ball - His timing is good on when to shoot - Gets good elevation on jumper FINISHING - He doesn't get to the rim very comfortably - Can drive at angles and not in a straight line - Just looks so weak and small when finishing - Does not get above the rim but I have seen a dunk once - Looks fluid with the exception of finishing near defenders PASSING - Can snake p&r and throw some drive and kick and lob passes - Can make cross court passes with ease - Has great vision/great patience/good processing - Has some disguise to passes - Finds the correct guy often and can make high to low passes with comfort - Can pass from everywhere - Good pocket passer DEFENSE - He gives effort but is outmatched and doesn't have the technique to make up for it - Has solid hands”
“Uber skilled small guard. Elite shooter great handle great passer. Overmatched on defense. Struggles with physicality. Can’t get to the paint against elite defenses. Struggled twice against Houston. Creates a ton of space. Maybe the best intersection of dribbling and shooting in this draft.”
