“Think he's a better athlete than most people give him credit for. Very quick, and has some wiggle too. Certainly not an elite athlete, but he's got enough quickness and dynamic movement ability to create offense on his own, and also in the pick n' roll. Very good at probing the defense. Elite passer. An absolute floor general. Very undersized, but he's feisty defensively. Got a lot of steals, and really hustles. His shot isn't great, and his touch around the rim isn't great either. See a lot of similarities to TJ McConnell (sub-par shooting, elite passing, very quick, feisty defender). 2x 1st team All-American for a reason. Think he defies his physical limitations and sticks in the league for a good amount of time as a backup or end of bench guy. Don't see starter potential because of his size and lack of shooting.”

“- A great offensive engine, Smith has a lot of intriguing value as a true point guard - Smith is great in the PnR as a creator, he does such a good job creating for his teammates with his high BBIQ - He does a good job getting to the rim and finishing, and his mid-range and 3-point shot is very reliable too - Smith is a good defensive playmaker, but his frame will be a cause for concern against NBA guards - He'll have to create an off-ball game, but Smith can absolutely be a valuable piece for an NBA team at minimum as a primary creator off the bench”
